Abstract
A considerable number of people suffer from symptoms that they themselves associate with a building in their living environment. These symptoms, called indoor air symptoms in this study, are medically contested, as the extent to which their occurrence can be explained by harmful indoor air exposures (e.g., moulds) or by other reasons (e.g., psychosocial factors) often remains unestablished. When indoor air patients seek medical help for their symptoms, the quality of their contested symptoms is often discussed.
