QRCDD2026 2026-09-15Z 2461298.5 We are pleased to announce that the journal Qualitative Research in Communication Differences and Disorders is currently accepting abstracts for a special issue: "Involving people with communication disorders in research: From data analysis to co-creation of materials" 🔗 UTP Publishing - QRCDD Special Issue (Note: Please check the tab on the far right of the webpage) - https://utppublishing.com/journals/qrcdd/special-issue-call-for-papers Rationale & Scope While Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) is increasingly mandated, individuals with communication disorders are often restricted to administrative tasks. This special issue aims to bridge this gap by focusing on the interactional and methodological opportunities and challenges of involving these contributors directly in inclusive (multimodal) data analysis and the co-construction of training materials/interventions. Key Focus Areas We invite contributions that apply (multimodal) interaction-analytic methods to explore dimensions of PPI, including: Investigating opportunities and challenges for involving persons with communication disorders in the analytical process and how their participation informs the research findings. Showcasing how persons with communication disorders contribute to the development or implementation of interventions built on analysis of conversational data.
